Painting

“Imagine  the gentle rhythm of the water lapping against the sides of a small dory, the boat bobbing softly as it sways in harmony with the tranquil waves. As you lose yourself in the serenity of these paintings, the world around you seems to slow, offering a momentary escape from the relentless pace of daily life. The peace and tranquility emanating from my artwork provides a much-needed sanctuary, a gentle reminder that amid the chaos and confusion, moments of calm and reflection can still be  found.”

I grew up in New York and lived in the south, midwest, and now in Maine for over 23 years. My first career was as a certified nurse-midwife and I cared for thousands of women during their child-bearing years. Next I followed my passion and, as a fiber artist and instructor, I opened a  yarn, weaving, and spinning store. After a decades-long hiatus, I rediscovered my love for studio art. I like to call this my “Third Chapter.” Much of my artistic inspiration comes from travel throughout the US, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

I  work in acrylics, oils, and mixed media. I love to take an image from  everyday life and recreate it so others can see what I see. In these  days of chaos and turmoil, I hope my work brings a sense of tranquility  and peace to the viewer. My work can be found in private collections in  the US and Sweden and is currently sold in several venues in Maine.

My Dear Angelique
